Pregancy

So we are pregnant.

But here is what I cant understand, what is so different about having a baby today than it was hundreds of years ago? Did the women of yesteryear spend untold hours researching the every facet of pregnancy? I know that they definatly did not have the ssame resources we have today, but we they as focused on the pregnancy as women of today appear to be? I have heard nothing else but baby talk since the moment go. Dont get me wrong I am excited about it, but I also know that it means that we have a very short amount of time to be childless and free of that responsibility. I for one would love to be exploring the things that will be unable to be done in 4-5 months. maybe go somewhere, or do SOMETHING? instead I watch my wife sit on the internet and "thumb" through hundreds of pages of online information/forums/papers about having a baby.

Maybe an even sadder event is the fact that since we live in Los Angeles and you can have no true friends here she is forced to socialize with people in our same circumstances through online forums. this addicting trend has had her glued to the computer almost every moment of the evening. Oh well what can I do... after all I am going to have to get used to coming in second place for her attention from now on.
